Kewpie Dolls. Some are cute and some are frightening.

I had a bizarre dream Saturday night that involved the aged ghost of Aaliyah (gray hair and all), a little girl ghost who reminded me of a combo of Reagan from The Exorcist and Wednesday Addams, and a creepy porcelain doll whose face resembled a Kewpie doll but she wore a long white dress, had angry eyebrows and a mischievous grin with long platinum blonde curls, while pointing her index finger up. When the Reagan- Addams girl told Aaliyah that "I'm not the one" as she descended down a set of flaming stairs, I turned to see the doll's hand moving mechanically with that finger back and forth. I grabbed the moving hand since I couldn't turn it off, and she suddenly came to life and held her hand and looked down and said "ow that really hurt!" I was terrified and woke up scared that a fucking doll came to life.

I took melatonin before bed and almost every time I do, I have weird dreams. I was also talking to my daughter about Halloween costume plans and she was thinking of dressing up as Eri from My Hero Academia, right before going to bed that night.

So I've been obsessed with the weird dream and the doll. I went and bought a plastic Kewpie doll and wig for it and I'll make her some clothes, change her eye color to red and name her Eri. We'll see.
